How do you do this in English?” John-Roger asks himself as he responds to a student’s question during an Inner Christ Retreat in Virginia. Then J-R begins a clear, succinct delineation of the way Spirit connected with we human beings. “Let me do this ontologically from the beginning,” he says.
“In the beginning there was Spirit. Spirit couldn’t know itself because it was all pervasive so out of itself, it formed that that we call God, so then it became a Spirit God. But God at that form still couldn’t know itself because Spirit was all pervasive. So then, it formed itself again out of itself….” And J-R, always in touch with his own humanness, says, “If you think I know all this, you’re nuts. There’s Somebody bigger here who knows this.”
Do you aspire to imagine the connections between Spirit God, Sat Nam, Jehovah on planet earth, Christ, the Holy Spirit and human beings — you and me? Just follow J-R’s words in this session as he parses the connections. And while we may not know or understand who or what Sat Nam might be, or how the Greatest One could not know itself, we can understand J-R’s words of comfort. “God incarnates Himself from time to time,” J-R says, “when the world loses track of the target they’re to go to. God once again attempts to balance the karma, and direct people back into their Spirit.”
“It didn’t say the Lord is a physical man,” J-R continues. “The Lord is Spirit, and God must be worshiped in Spirit. That means if you are going to worship Him inside of you, you can’t worship Him with your mind or your emotions, but you must actually worship Him with your Soul.
