As we convert our own fears, our own judgments, by having mercy upon our Soul, just as God does, then we stand in for God in our own consciousness and have mercy upon ourselves in the angers that visit us, in the againstness, in the negative judgments. And we commute that anger, not by condemnation and a sentence of punishment, but by having mercy. - John Morton, D.S.S. (From: "Converting to Mercy", video and audiotape, #7767)

There are no things that come from God that are dirty or soiled or impure. It's only because we forget that we would relate to them as such. So that's part of the blessing too - that you're pure, you are whole, you are loved, because you are Divine. - John Morton, D.S.S.

Everybody is in this Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness. Everybody is awakening to themselves in the greater reality of who we are as a Soul, as a God aspect, living in this world. - John Morton, D.S.S.

In this moment you have an opportunity to once again release through time, through past actions, that in the Light, in the love that is the Christ, the Holy Spirit, you are being lifted. You are being clarified, purified, and cleansed. You are being renewed into the Holy of Holies, the pure state of your Soul, the consciousness of God. - John Morton, D.S.S.

And let us conduct our lives that we become friends - friends of the Lord - and friends to one another who love in the way of the Lord. - John Morton, D.S.S.

Using your devotion to have contact with God, you can move yourself into the knowing that that relationship is sacred, and is also a joyous and magnificent occasion. - John Morton, D.S.S.

As human beings, we are subject to an endarkened state with a negative reality as an imperfect reference point. As a test, that negative state would deny who we are spiritually, as if to say, "You are not who you are." But as long as you know who you really are, someone saying that "you are not who you are" does not matter. It is not material to your personal experience of who you really are. And so it is with Spirit. - John Morton, D.S.S.

If you will hold yourself into the focus with the name of God and do what you can in your ability to focus upon the Light and Sound of God, then you will be liberated of your illusions and negative creations. - John Morton, D.S.S.

When we're serving, we let go of the orientation and expectation that has to do with, "What am I getting out of this?" or "What's in it for me?" When that's up, it's important to take a look and find out how you are serving yourself and what's going on. We say it as, "Take care of yourself." We could equally say, "Serve yourself." We need to be fulfilled in our own level of being served and taken care of. - John Morton, D.S.S.

Whatever you consider right now, you see in truth, being revealed in Light and love. You find your courage, the consciousness that comes through strength, the strength that is the purpose of God, the intention of God's will being done. - John Morton, D.S.S.

We open ourselves to have the experience of love and truth in all things. And whatever we experience or encounter - whether it is something we like or don't like, whether it is expected or unexpected, regardless of its nature - we embrace it all in truth and love by letting go and trusting in God's will. This will is all-encompassing. It's in your breath, breathing in and breathing out. And just as you can experience your breath as a constant process in and out, so too, experience God's will as a constant process in and out. - John Morton, D.S.S.

Life is like that. You can just say, "You know, if I can't say anything else, I'll just say, 'Life is like that.'" And that's really true. It's never false. There's never been a moment when life wasn't like that. - John Morton, D.S.S.

Love is a constant choice, and in loving our Lord God, we come into an availability that we refer to as spiritual exercise. As a way of making ourselves available, we bring our attention to the Light of God. - John Morton, D.S.S.
John Morton, DSSJan 10, 2003
By the practice of spiritual exercise, there is always an experience that is given to us to keep us vitalized. A holy, living breath is constantly being delivered so we do not die or perish. The reality is that we are being constantly awakened and shown the illumination that is the Light of God. - John Morton, D.S.S.

As we bring ourselves into spiritual exercise, there is a sacred openness. We bring what is in us as an offering to God. What do we have to offer God that God does not already have? Our choosing to attend to God. - John Morton, D.S.S.
